Hi everyone
Last week we explored the Prevent Duty. This week, we’re building on that by looking at how to recognise when someone may be at risk of radicalisation.
🔎 What is radicalisation?
It’s the process where someone is influenced to support extremist ideas or behaviours that could lead to harm. This can happen gradually and often without the person realising.

⚠️ Signs to look out for
These signs don’t confirm radicalisation, but they may indicate someone needs support:
- Sudden changes in behaviour, language, or appearance 🧩
- Becoming isolated or withdrawn
- Expressing extreme or concerning views 💬
- Increased anger, frustration, or a sense of injustice
- Sharing or accessing harmful online content 📱
🛟 What to do if you’re concerned
- Don’t confront the person
- Share your concern with the Activate Learning Safeguarding Team at safe@activatelearning.ac.uk or call 01865 550401
- Speak to your employer’s safeguarding or HR lead
- If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 🚨
If you ever feel unsure, unsafe, or pressured, please reach out. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and staying aware helps keep our workplaces and communities safe 🌟.
Have a great week!
