ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management

Our ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management is ideal for individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing their abilities.

The programme particularly supports practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people though organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Day 2: Understanding leadership

  • Differences between management and leadership
  • Understanding the qualities of authentic leaders and reviewing your own leadership qualities
  • Leadership models – action-centred leadership, situational leadership, transactional analysis
  • How to utilise the right leadership style based on the circumstances
  • Evaluating own leadership style linked to Insights® Discovery
  • How to communicate vision, goals and objectives

Day 3: Understanding how to motivate to improve performance

  • An exploration of what motivates and what de-motivates people
  • Motivating individuals and the team
  • Selecting the most appropriate motivational factors
  • Beginning assignment writing (for assessment)
